Dave,

Thanks for the kind words about the story. I had a lot of fun writing it.. I
tried to get across how much we all GIVE ourselves to the boat

Did you get the "Hidden" puzzles.. LOL
"EVIG" means "Eternal" in Danish.. And read backwards it's "GIVE".... I
stumbled on that ironic twist one day a few months ago..
A bit pretentious .. but I thought it was fun.
Also.. All the sur-names are Danish (except the delivery Capt.. because he
hated the boat)
And.... Each Owner was a different kind of person.. 1st was Evil,
then..Friendly, then..Greedy, then .. Kindly, then... Innocent youth.
More pretentious silliness on my part.. LOL

You may remember the Christmas story I wrote last year. It's been accepted for
publication by our regional sailing magazine
"48' North". It will appear in the December issue coming out next week. If I
remember correctly, you wanted to use it in some way at your church. Feel free
to use it again if you choose. I'm not sure I'll put it on the email list.
There have been some negative responses.
It should be available on line next week.. www.48north.com

On a much more important note.....

Of course we're all routing for Adam.
I have a little experience with hospital stays.. (so far over 100 inches of
surgery scar.. LOL )
That darned bed gets to be the "enemy" really quickly. But having to drag tubes
and bottles around the halls when you're first up and walking,,at first, makes
the bed a "friend" again..
He's a brave lad...(so is his Dad)......Give him a hug for me..

Thanksgiving surely has a totally different meaning to you and your family this
year..
Please know that...We all are all thankful a young life was spared. His rapid
recovery makes our days brighter..

Again,
All my best to you and yours. Please pass along my heartfelt regards to Adam.

Ralph

  Ralph,

I just got around to reading Torment in Teak today while at the hospital. I
have had a copy in my briefcase for weeks! I have had a similar situation as
the ending with the Celtic Pride. Whenever I paint the bottom I begin to blend
in with the boat...I would call it "Ruination in Red."

Nice job, Ralph. It helped me pass the time as Adam slept today.

  Hopefully, rehab tomorrow!

  Dave
