As as ALTERNATE SUGGESTION, look for "solder slugs" for large diameter wires (up to 00).

Use gloves and at least safety glasses, preferably a face shield.

Basically place the terminal in a vice, open end up. Strip back enough insulation on the cable to fit into the terminal. Put a piece of heat shrink tube on the cable BEFORE you put it into the terminal. Drop the appropriate size slug into the terminal. These have rosin in them, but a drop or two of compatible rosin is not a bad idea. Heat these with a portable torch ( I use MAPP gas). When the slug melts, push your stripped cable into the terminal. Be careful not to jam it in, or hot solder will come back at you. Hold for 15 or 20 seconds, and it's done. Then put the shrink tube down around the bare wire and end of terminal, heat and let cool. You now have a solid connection.
