I used plastic electrical ties in my mast about five-six years ago when I
re-wired it and have not had any problems. The wires are still quiet. No
clanging whatsoever. I set the ties each foot or so and in addition to creating
a sturdy harness, the tie tails, which are about six inches long have held the
weight of the wires. Electrical ties seem like a perfect solution to me. Of
course, my halyards are external.

  Hello all,

I am a former list member, occasional lurker, and I would the C27 list's
thoughts about a method to secure mast wires.

The method uses plastic electrical ties, spaced approx 1 foot apart, with
each pointed 120 degrees from the last.
I do not have internal halyards.

The benefits of this system are: no holes in the mast, very little added
weight, easy instillation, and, hopefully, no noise from the wires.

The negatives are___________________ Please fill in the blank.

Thanks in advance, and Happy new year!
