I took advantage of yesterday's calm winds and sunny skies to take my bike
out for the first time in 2010. I opted for my usual birding route behind
the Ithaca airport and over to the Neimi Rd. ponds. I am happy to report
that I saw two AMERICAN KESTRELS along Warren Road. I saw a few RING-NECKED
DUCKS both on the pond immediately east of the runway and on the larger pond
behind the series of ponds on Neimi Rd. However, other than 5+ RED-TAILED
HAWKS and a lot of AMERICAN CROWS there weren't too many notable birds
yesterday.

As Dave mentioned in an earlier post, I'll soon be leaving Ithaca. I'm
hoping to make one last half-day trip up the lake on either Saturday April
10 or Sunday April 11 (weather and packing permitting). If anyone might be
interested in joining me, please contact me off list.

Good birding,
Ryan
