We just had a brief visit from a mixed flock--a pair of Carolina wrens (vocalizing fiercely), four juncos, two black-capped chickadees and a white-breasted nuthatch. The wrens in particular were exploring a vacant robin's nest up under our porch eaves. All in constant motion. A rare and lively winter treat on such a chilly afternoon.
