After a few tries this past week, Livia and I finally found the GRASSHOPPER SPARROW others have reported (although perhaps not posted here?) at the Ithaca Airport recently. Today it was singing a field south of Snyder Road maybe 100m east of the first gate/pulloff area south of the Snyder-Cherry intersection. (In other words, here: 42.497289,-76.461092). It sang for a few minutes, then dropped down into the grass and disappeared. https://picasaweb.google.com/111137855303614931880/Summer2013#5888603580377351762
The ORCHARD ORIOLE is still singing lustily from the parking lot areas at the Lab of Ornithology. https://picasaweb.google.com/111137855303614931880/Summer2013#5888603595935952754 https://picasaweb.google.com/111137855303614931880/Summer2013#5888603609708821634 Good birding! -Jay -- Jay McGowan Macaulay Library Cornell Lab of Ornithology jw...@cornell.edu -- Cayugabirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/cayugabirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/Cayugabirds 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/CAYU.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
