Here are a couple Montezuma Audubon Center programs this week to experience the
early bird migration! Space is limited and registration is required. Please
call 315-365-3588 or e-mail montez...@audubon.org.

Thursday, August 8, 9:00 am – 11:00 am
Bird Watching Hike
The autumn migration is just getting underway and Montezuma’s marshes are
coming to life with dozens of shorebirds and marsh birds. The mudflats at the
Audubon Center provide excellent habitat for these long-distant migrants. A
1-mile long walk over flat terrain will provide excellent opportunities to hone
visual and audio identification skills of shorebirds. Meet at the Montezuma
Audubon Center. Bring binoculars or borrow a pair from us. Fee: $3/child;
$5/adult; $15/family.

Saturday, August 10, 1:30 pm—4:30 pm
Birding and Boating on Cayuga Lake
Join us for a canoe/kayak paddle at the north end of Cayuga Lake around the
NYSDEC and US Fish and Wildlife Service forests and wetlands. Migrating
raptors, shorebirds, and songbirds can be seen soaring high over the lake and
hugging the shoreline. Bring your own canoe/kayak or rent one from us. Meet at
the Mud Lock Boat Launch. Fee: $7.50/child without rental, $12.50/adult without
rental, $25/solo kayak rental, $40/canoe rental (maximum 2 adults plus 1 child).
