Yesterday (2/22) I also saw my first RED-WINGED BLACKBIRDS of the year, a flock
which eventually added up to about 50 in an overgrown hedgerow on the west side
of NYS-89 just south of Parker Rd in Canoga (town of Fayette, Seneca County),
between a field of standing corn and a log cabin with a large yard. Some birds
went to the back of the cabin where I assume there were feeders, but most were
staying deep within the hedgerow. I didn't see if they were also in the corn.
