I heard twice a descending call this morning, lower pitched and coarser than what I associate with E. Screech Owl. It seem to definitely be an owl - it was still dark with only a few peeps and chirps from other birds/frogs/insects - and the descending pattern was like that of the E. SO. Trying out by youthful voices, I'd guess.
