December 30

Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)

     1/1: 2 SHORT-EARED OWLS were seen in the marsh between Morgan and 
Carncross Roads. One was seen the next day.

     1/2: A male WOOD DUCK was seen from Armitage Road and has been present 
through  today.







Onondaga County

------------




     12/30: A WOOD DUCK was seen near Vincent Corners Road south of Fabius.

     1/1: A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was seen in the Inner Harbor in Syracuse.

     1/2: A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen at the corner of East Sorrell Hill and 
Conners Roads south of Baldwinsville.

     1/3: A CACKLING GOOSE was seen from Shepps Corner Road in Minoa. A WINTER 
WREN was seen at Beaver Lake nature Center west of Baldwinsville.

     1/5: A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen at Three Rivers WMA north of 
Baldwinsville. A SNOWY OWL was seen at Hancock Airport.

     1/6: A FISH CROW was seen at the Western Lights Shopping Area in Syracuse.







Oswego County

------------




     1/2: A RED-THROATED LOON and a PEREGRINE FALCON were seen in Oswego Harbor.







Madison County

------------




     1/1: A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was seen on Ditch Bank Road north of 
Canastota.

     1/2: A GLAUCOUS and an ICELAND GULL were seen at Ditchbank Road. A 
NORTHERN SHRIKE was found at the corner Eaton Brook and Eden Hollow Roads.

     1/3? An ICELAND GULL was seen at Ditchbank Road.

     1/6: A GREEN-WINGED TEAL was seen near West Eaton.







Oneida County

------------




     1/1: 2 RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS were seen at Verona Beach State Park and 
were present through the 3rd. A RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET was seen at Lock 21 of the 
Erie Canal East of Verona Beach. A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen at the State 
Office Building in Utica. A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen on Germany Road north of 
Vernon.
