A PROTHONOTARY WARBLER was seen on Armitage Road. 2 BLACK TERNS were seen from VanDyne Spoor Road. Cayuga County ------------ 5/19: A COMMON NIGHTHAWK was seen from West Barrier Park in Fair Haven. 5/20: A RED KNOT was seen at Faih Haven State Park. A RED-HEADER WOODPECKER, an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER and a PHILADELPHIA VIREO were all found at West Barrier Bar in Fair Haven. 5/21: An ORCHARD ORIOLE was found at Fair Haven State Park. A BLACK-LEGGED KITTYWAKE, a RUDDY TURNSTONE and a SWAINSON’S THRUSH were all found at West Barrier Bar Park. Oswego County ------------ 5/16: An ACADIAN FLYCATCHER was found on Gray Road south of Oswego. A GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER was seen at Sunset Bay park on Lake Ontario. 5/21: A GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH was seen at Rice Creek Field Station south of Oswego.A COMMON NIGHTHAWK was seen from McCloud Road on Oneida Lake. A PHILADELPHIA VIREO and a SWAINSON’S THRUSH were seen at Sunset Bay park on Lake Ontario. 5/22: A RED-HEADED WOODPECKER continues at Derby Hill Bird Observatory on Lake Ontario. Onondaga County ------------ 5/18: A RED-HEADED WOODPECKER was seen on Lawrence Road near Marcellus. A LINCOLN’S SPARROW was seen in Green Lakes StatePark. A COMMON NIGHTHAWK was seen in Fayetteville. 5/19: A BLACK VULTURE was seen near the Dewitt Quarry 5/20: An OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER, a PHILADELPHIA VIREO and a YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER were all found at Oakwood Cemetery in Syracuse. An ACADIAN FLYCATCHER was found at three Rivers WMA north of Baldwinsville. A GRASSHOPPER SPARROW was seen at Cedar Bay park in Fayetteville. 5/21: A GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH was seen in Pleasant Valley Preserve east of Marcellus. A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was seen both at Crouse Ave and Water Street in Syracuse. A SWAINSON’S THRUSH continues in Whiskey Hollow Nature Preserve west of Baldwinsville. Madison County ------------ 5/16: A GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH was seen at Chittenango Falls Park. 5/17: An EVENING GROSBEAK was seen on Bonney Hill Road east of Hamilton. Oneida County ------------ 5/17: A SEDGE WREN was found on Sterling Road in Durhamville. It was relocated the next day.. 5/18: A WHIP-POOR-WILL was heard on Preston Hill Road north of Oneida lake. 5/20: A BLACK VULTURE was seen in Rome near the High School. 5/21: RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS were seen both on Lakeshore Road south of Verona Beach State Park and on Pennystreet Road in Rome. A GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH was seen at Spring farm nature Sanctuary south of Clinton. Herkimer County ------------ 5/19: 2 BLACK VULTURES were seen in flight above Little Falls. 5/21: A CATTLE EGRET was seen from Rt. 170A north of Little Falls. A RED-HEADED WOODPECKER was seen from Seckner Road in Ilion Extralimital ------------ Sodus Point, Wayne County On 5/19 A first for New York HEERMAN’S GULL was spotted at Sodus Point on Lake Ontario. It was seen and photographed by many observers.
