Hi Ahmed
thank you so much for your remarks
I have to say I completely agree with everything you said.

Unfortunately, I`m not able to solve the issue myself. I am trying to build
the community, which is what I can do, not being a lawyer, and I agree
with you that, lacking a proper legal work, the community is lacking
something very important
But there is no other region in the world where a community manager or
somebody from SF has fixed the legal problem.Solutions have always come
from within the local communities. CC, as much as Wikipedia, is based on
grassroots communities. I have tried my best to encourage the Arab
community to work on the legal deeds with poor results.

I dont know where the problem is. What I can tell you is that the Egyptian
license is, according to SF, still not satisfactory from a grammar point of
view. They are aware of the spelling mistakes and all the other problems
you point out (except from the terminology, which has been changed in the
new draft according to our decision in Doha, but for some reasons not put
online yet) and that is why the Egyptian license has not been ported yet.
The other Arab countries which have lawyers officially working with CC
(Qatar and Lebanon) have agreed not to port the license, cause when they
signed the MOU the 4.0 was already under discussion, so they decided to
wait for the new version to be ready.

So the Egyptian version remains the only possible way to have a 3.0 CC
license in Arabic now.
They are close to finish the work, but they have been close for more than
one year. And , as you said, still lots of mistakes appear and SF cannot
green light an official version if things remain to be fixed.

But we can only push and encourage people to finish the work, we cannot
oblige them.

What you can do, with the background that you have and your skills, is to
work on the human version of the deeds, which doesnt need a lawyer to be
out. We have been lacking volunteers to do this. It would be great if you
would like to work on this issue..

Also, if you have any other suggestion about how to improve the legal work,
please let me know. As I said, I am more familiar with community work than
legal work but I would be happy to do more on the legal side, if I can.
Please do suggest ideas on how to improve this

and thanks so much for your feedback

salam
dona
