Hi Rafik thanks for your comment Personally speaking (not speaking as a CC person but as somebody who has lived in Syria and was there two yrs ago when all started) what is happening in Syria is not a crisis or a war, but a revolution, or an uprising if you prefer.
Second of all, we know very well that there are thousands of people unfairly jailed in Syria but sometimes you focus the campaign and your efforts for people you personally know. We personally know Bassel and campaign for him, but this doesnt mean that we dont campaign for other Syrians. Not doing anything for Bassel, in my personal view (not as a CC person but as one of his friends) wont save other Syrian prisoners.. But of course you`re not obliged to join and campaign for him, and I thank you so much for having expressed your opinion so openly salam dona On Thursday, March 14, 2013 9:29:01 PM UTC+1, dd.r. wrote: > > > > Hi all > > As promised, here are the details of the Free Bassel event on Friday. > > Feel free to send it on to anyone you know who might be interested - we're > not looking for hundreds of people, but we don't want anyone to be left out. > > This Friday, 15 March, is the one-year anniversary of the detainment in > Syria of Bassel Khartabil, a prominent open sourcer, creative commoner, and > general free culture advocate.
