It's been a while since I've had to replace flash.... Check out the
"partition" command as I think that's what you need to format the two flash
simms as one logical unit.

hi Scott,
thanks for your advice. Now at least i can see the Rommon mode.

here is the output for ROMMON mode now:
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
++++++
rommon 1 > dir flash:
get_man_dev: Unknown device - probably NOT formatted.
get_man_dev: Unknown device - probably NOT formatted.
device does not contain a valid magic number
dir: cannot open device "flash:"
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

1. i have tried in to upload the ios image using tftp server but failed
because it cann't erase completely the flash and hang up in the middle of
erasing.

2. xmodem procedure but failed because of same problem and it says "device
not responding. not enough memory space"

These are the two thing i got from cisco web site.
As an internetworking expert do you have any other idea that i can use to
uoload the 12.4(5a) ios into my flash? and get rid of this clumsy thing.

pla let me know.

Thanks
Bhuan
