Hello all,

I would like someone to help me with understanding the difference
between med-confed and always-compare med commands when they are used
on the same router at the same time.

The first one is clear to me in that it allows the router to compare
the med for routes that do not originate from the same neighboring AS.
However, if I have a situation where I am receiving same route from
two different external autonomous systems. Assuming the router that is
going to do the comparison is part of a confederation. These routes are
then passed through some internal sub-as autonomous systems before
reaching the router that will perform the route selection.

What would be the result if I enable both the commands on the router
that is receiving the same route from two external confed ebgp peers,
which also happens to be from two different external BGP autonomous
systems.

Thanks
Suresh
