I always thought it was for "Hello" as in the order of discovered neighbors. I'v never realy poked around though! Check out the most obvious place: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/iproute/command/reference/irp_eig2.html# wp1012982 :) " This column lists the order in which a peering session was established with the specified neighbor. The order is specified with sequential numbering starting with 0." HTH,
