Folks,

Hopefully I will not bore you with this but I need some direction. I'm ready
to start working on the CCIE R&S journey at the current point in time I want
to start off with preparing for the written. I'm hoping to knock it out by
end of Q1.

Here is some background. I've worked at at&t for approximately five and a
half years of which most of the time was spent as a network engineer I
managed to attain the following levels of certification: CCNA, CCDA, CCNP,
CCIP. I've re-certified twice now and each time has been getting harder due
to my lack of exposure to Cisco products. I currently work as a Systems
Engineer at a security hardware vendor: Fortinet. That being said I'm far
removed from the day to day exposure to routing/switching as I was at at&t.
So I want to start off by doing labs and lecture to prepare for the written.
I believe doing this now will help me in getting a really good foundation
for pursing the lab later in the year possibly Q2/Q3.

What I need help with is determining the best path for CCIE R&S Written
preparation that is a mixture of lab/lecture preferably 60%/40% or 50%/50%.
I have the CCIE Certification guide from CiscoPress that is geared to
version 3.0 and I feel like it may not be enough. Current v4.0 based
reading material recommendations would also be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thank you in advance for reading this and responding!

Happy Holidays!

-Abel
