I have a quick question. All this time when asked I have been using the command " ip igmp join x.x.x.x"
Because I am asked to join a group in a lab. Why would I want to do this? What purpose does it server. I believe multicast will still talk to that group if I did not put that command in correct? I think my foundation on Multicast for the real world is a little shaky here. Same thing with enabling IGMP. What does that do for me? ED,
