Cedric,

I use the notepad technique to help me remember commands and the minimum
configurations needed to setup a given technology/protocol. When you are
going through your lab, try typing the configs in notepad then paste them to
your devices. I also, stay away from copy/paste within notepad. I type out
configs as much as I can, until they get burned in to memory. Repetition is
the key until minimum configs are second nature. With this in mind, I agree
with Steve regarding knowing where everything is on the doccd. When I am
done reading/lab-ing for the day, I open a copy of the official R/S lab exam
topics pdf and pick random numbers from the list and attempt to find the
subject and related material on the doccd, but don't let the exam topics be
your only source, you can also use keywords from the workbooks/DSGs as well.
Btw, how many of the lab workbooks did you go through before your first
attempt and which books did you read as part of your core knowledge
preparation?

Cedric, I have never attempted the lab but I think its impossible to
remember every single command. Question marks in IOS and the Cisco doccd are
your friends, as long as you know where to look for things, id say you're in
good shape.

Hi Gang,

I'm under 45 days until I make my 2nd attempt at the R/S Lab... starting to
lose my confidence.. I'm doing the R/S vl 2 labs, reading the DocCD and I
just keep forgetting simple commands...

Do you have any recommendations ?

v/r

Cedric
