Come to think of it, Local Area Mobility needs proxy ARP too as it allows
clients to be in the wrong subnet, by design.

If anyone ever still uses that.

Absolutely.  As long as the VPN clients don't have any silly requirements
like sending or receiving LAN broadcasts, the pool should be entirely
separate.  :)
