Hi Joe ,

I have used it but I prefered to use XP version , I just suggested that you may
like to use linux .
I think linux & windows are the same in my trial for GNS , but most important
IDLEPC value .

You can get the idlepc value as following:
- Run R1 , then get the idlepc value for CPU , I got it at 5% , then copy and
past it to all use command " idlepc copy R1 all"
- Run BB1 ( 2600) and do the same step above.
- run the rest of the devices in delay ( wait a time between each one ) , you
will see cpu gets high and then backs to low , this is the time to run the
other device.

BR

Waleed

Have you used the RedNectar at all?

It looks promising and what I would end up doing is using the
IPExpects files to create that I need.

Ben

Thanks for the info on the scheduler  command..  I hadn't thought of
    that..

The reason I went to using Kubuntu is due to feedback from people
that stated Linux was the way to go with Dynamips with GNS3 as the
    front end.

Now that I have more under my belt with idlepc idlemax and some
other commands, I may hack the set- up from IPExperts to get smaller
routers (different hypervisor) used in place of 3725..

Cheers

Joe

routers in dynamips running 12.4(9)T7.  The draw back is
that there are certain features that aren't available on
older code.  The only routers that will run the latest code
are the 7200's.  I've found them to have the falling asleep
issue that you mentioned.  I recently spent about 4 days
straight trying different IOS versions and idlepc values but
still no dice.  I'm persevering with dynamips as I'm
hopefully near the end of the road but if I had my time
again I'd find a way to get hardware.  I have wasted
countless hours on issues related to Dynamips/lab setup.
