While this is an possible idea, the end result in the solutions guide
clearly shows that the interfaces in the Catalysts that the routers
connected to, are not configured as trunk on either the routers or the
switches.
The concern I have, is one of following:
1. I may have mis-read something and if so, I'd love to know where...
2. There is a legitimate error in the lab configuration guide for this task
3. There is a legitimate error in the "final" Lab configurations as
provided.
As an FYI, I also set these ports to static VLAN's "switch mode access &
switch port access vlan X" to see if I could get it to work.
Alas this didn't' correct the issue.

Hi Joe,
Maybe you can do something with native vlans?

Got to the last portion of the this lab whereby PPPoE has to be
configured and made operational between R7 and R9.. Config for the
interfaces is real straight forward and should work..
However it's not. When checking the Cat's that the routers are
connected, each respective router interface is on a different VLAN
within the switch (CAT2) that they are connected to....
The guidebook initial configurations and the final configurations,
show that each respective port in the Catalyst that each router
connects to are on completely different VLAN's and there is no
tunneling, L2Tp or anything else going on (that I can see) that
would allow 0/0 on both R7 and R9 to come up PPPoE to one another...
Either I have gone completely mad or missed something along the
way in this lab?
