OK, so I was going through the multicast section of Lab 5, and I reach task 4.4, the last bullet point "You are required to configure BGP for this task."
... Why lol? Since the previous tasks 4.3 and 4.2 both stated to enable PIM on all interfaces of all routers in their respective AS (just to filter RP info from leaking)... R7 and R8 are PIM neighbors. So, multicast pings work just fine.
