Dear All,
I have a classic Core switch 4506 ( not E series ) and Supervisor Engine IV
installed in it .
I need to replace the old Supervisor with the new one which is Supervisor
Engine 8-E.
How can I do this , I mean that
* I need step by step to do this upgrade
* which IOS image I need to make the switch to be compatible with the
new Supervisor .
* I also need to know when I install this supervisor engine , should I
remove the upper cover ( a piece of metal) as shown in the picture
Also I need to know which one to do first :
IOS image upgrade ==== then ====install the new SUP 8-E ====then===== upgrade
the IOS image
or
install the new SUP 8-E ====then===== upgrade the IOS image
I will appreciate if you advise me on how doing this .
