My take on that is a simple one - if you want to be a CCIE, better get
ready to know your commands, what, why and how they do things. When you've
done that, "memorizing" them will be no issue.

I *highly* recommend using Notepad for configuration and equally highly
recommend not relying on aliases during your study.
