You can install the Cisco IPT OS on VMWare directly with no issues.  The 
only thing that's different is that when installed on an MCS server, it just 
loads.  If you install it on a non Cisco server (like VMWare), you need a 
license key to activate the O/S.

The O/S disks that come with the NFR kit include license numbers.  Just do a 
regular O/S build and pop the license number in to activate it.  I built 
mine out that way and it works just fine.

What is the registry hack you are talking about? I have the NFR kit, but
no W2K3 appliance OS media. Is this similar to the CCM4.1 regirty hack
that allows you to install CCM on a non CMS windows 2K?
