You are correct. Associate the ICD extensions to the rmjtapi user. If you
login with a CAD application and forget to do that, it will tell you exactly
what to do. The IP phone agent has no means to tell you that. What workbook?
It should clearly tell you this is needed in the Cisco IPCC documentation.
Please read it and don't just depend on the workbook "easy" way.

Telecaster to the best of my knowledge is legacy (pre 4.x) and is not neeed
anymore. Enterprise data still works without it. But I would take the 10
seconds to configure it on the exam because the CAD install guide still
mentions it (most documentation is just re-prints of old documentation with the
version changed.)

I know IPCC is a difficult topic for a lot of people, but the topics Cisco puts
on the exam are there for a reason (help them sell the technology). It is a
niche product. I think Cisco's reason to put IPCC on the v2 exam was because
they were including a free 5 user license bundle with every new CallManager
sold at the time. Now it's included with CUWL licensing.

Same for SIP with the V3. Industry is starting to push SIP. I can't find
anyone in normal daily activities that know a lot about it. Lots of
incompatibilities, etc especially amongst differing vendors. We just have to
put our time in and learn as much as we can.

Subject: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Need clarification on IPCC agent , rm user
association

Hi ,

I got stuck in correct way of setting up IPCC integration with CCM.

I used to do this :

make agent1,agent2 , associate them with ICD extension of phones.
jtapi provider (sub, pub), jtapi control group --> media group--> rm--->
resource group --> associate resources to resource group, make CSQ .

Problem :
after that I need to associate rm on ccm to agent devices to make them work.
but I cannot see this step in any workbook.

some ppl use telecaster and associate phones with that. but with telecaster if
I didn't associate rm with phones already, I would get error when trying to
login to phones.

so what's the correct way ? I used to associate rm to agent phones ,is that a
crrect way ? or IPCC should somehow do it automatically?
I know telecaster is for passing Ent data, but some WB use that and I cannot
see rm association step in them.

Please comment on correct way configuring this. (rm association and agent login)

Thanx
