Thanks Liz,
I was using the links from Stuart McNicholas website (
http://www.ysbl.york.ac.uk/~mcnicholas/ccp4mg/MG-distrib/UNIX/Darwin/
) and tried both the tar and the .pkg - I had tried clicking on the
icon after using the .pkg but this did not work with that installation.
Now I have installed again used the "official" link from the ccp4 page
and this works ok as far as I can tell.
The other possible explanation is that it was necessary to log out and
in again.

Mark,
We had removed the tarball version from the download page so we are wondering
how you got to it?
Just double click on the icon in the application folder.

Dear colleagues,
Upon installing ccp4mg from the tar-file and running I get the following
error: dyld: python version mismatch for library: /sw/lib/libxml2.2.dylib
(compatibility version of user: 9.0.0 greater than library's version:
8.0.0) dyld: python version mismatch for library: /sw/lib/libxml2.2.dylib
(compatibility version of user: 9.0.0 greater than library's version:
8.0.0) /usr/local/ccp4mg/bin/ccp4mg: line 171: 972 Trace/BPT trap
python $CCP4_MG/python/ui/ui.py $*
is my python version too new?
I also tried to install from the disk image (.pkg file) which appears to
work fine, but apart from putting "ccp4mg.app" in the applications folder
this does not seem to have done anything I can find.
Greetings,
Mark
