Vacancy for CEAD program developer

A position is available for a PhD level scientist to develop the COMPRES
Environment for Automatic Data analysis (CEAD). This software package
will enable automated analysis of diffraction data collected in high
pressure experiments at national synchrotron and neutron facilities.
This project will initially involve using scripting languages to
incorporate existing software packages into an automated user
environment. The project will then focus on further development of CEAD
through collaborative use of the package with groups at universities and
national laboratories. The ideal candidate will have strong
interpersonal and communication skills, a background in high-pressure
science or crystallography and an interest in scientific computing.
The successful candidate will be employed by Virginia Tech but will be
based at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Berkeley,
California. Some travel within the US will be necessary. The initial
term of this project is for two years although we would expect it to
continue into the future as funds allow. Applications can be made online
at www.jobs.vt.edu, posting number 042630. Informal inquires can be made
to Simon Clark ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) or Ross angel ([EMAIL PROTECTED]).
