An NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available immediately at the Macromolecular Research Resource of the Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source (MacCHESS), Cornell University, Ithaca, USA. Projects will focus on structural/functional studies of human CD38 and its complexes with substrates and protein ligands. Human CD38 is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein involved in diverse functions. As an enzyme, it is responsible for the syntheses of two Ca2+ messengers, cADPR and NAADP; as an antigen, it is involved in regulating cell adhesion, differentiation, and proliferation. CD38 is also a marker of progression of HIV-1 infection and a negative prognostic marker of B-CLL.

Requirements for the position include a Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a closely related field. Experience with crystallographic structure determination would be a strong plus. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and possess strong written and oral communication skills.

Please submit CV, cover letter and contact information for three references to the attention of Dr. Quan Hao, at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
