Sorry this isn't answering your question, but if you are stuck and need an
alternative, install the x-windows pymol and apbs (fink packages exist to
make this easy) and you can do electrostatics via the apbs plugin in
pymol.

Dear All,
I try to generate a surface and map the electrostatic potential on it in
ccp4mg. I am using MacOSX and the binaries for 10.4. Every time I have tried
it it crashes. Any hints would be highly appreciated!
