There might be some degree of fuzziness in the statistics, since Mac OS X
and GNU/Linux users might be more likely to install from source code than
windows users. I never install OSX (or Linux) binaries if the source code
is available.
Also, don't windoze people do this thing that involves reinstalling their
OS every so often? Maybe it is just the same 3 people that keep
downloading the windoze version?

After the shock that 50% of CCP4 downloads are for Windoze, we have checked
the statistics for SHELX downloads, which averaged over the last few months
about 10 per day for the .tgz files each containing all the binaries for a
particular OS and about 2 per day for the .tgz file of all the sources.
Ignoring the sources, which would be needed for other OSes but may include
e.g. Linux users who compile just for the fun of it, the statistics are:
Linux 47%, Windowe 32% and MacOSX(G4/G5) 21%.
