Postdoctoral Fellow in Robotics and Miniaturization Membrane Structural and Functional Biology Group
University of Limerick, Ireland The University of Limerick is inviting applications for the post of Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Membrane Structural and Functional Biology Group. The major theme within the Group is structure and function of membrane proteins by crystallographic means. Systems under investigation include receptors, transducers, transporters, adhesins/invasins, respiratory complexes, and quorum sensing-related and biofilm forming membrane proteins of Pseudomonas. An exciting opportunity exists for a top Postdoctoral Researcher to join this multidisciplinary team to characterize and improve the performance of the existing crystallization and imaging robots and to extend their applicability into new research areas such as microarrays and sensors. The project will involve development of novel sensors and crystal imaging, harvesting and manipulation robots. Miniaturization is a constant goal given that the biomaterials used are expensive and in short supply.
