The Biozentrum of the University of Basel, Switzerland,  invites applications 
for a

Research IT Specialist in Structural Biology & Biophysics

to (i) maintain and develop scientific software and workflows in Structural 
Biology and Biophysics, (ii) provide training and support in programming and 
scripting to researchers.
The position will be embedded within the Research IT team of the Biozentrum.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person with technical expertise as well as 
communication skills. The ideal candidate is a PhD level scientist or software 
engineer with excellent knowledge in C and Python programming. Practical 
experience in scientific computing in Linux/Mac environments is required. 
Preferentially, the candidate has proven his/her expertise by scientific 
publications or by the development of software tools in the area of Structural 
Biology. A solid knowledge of biophysical methods, as well as physics and 
mathematics is an advantage.  The candidate enjoys contributing to excellent 
science by developing novel software tools and supporting researchers in 
programming and scripting.
