I didn't bother to check stringy floppies. It worked great until the great tape god, Rewindus, decided all stringy tape drive belts and all tapes should turn to dust in one fateful day in 2007. I haven't seen a working stringy tape in a long time. If I was to try today, I'd go through 10 before I read one stringy floppy successfully, and it would probably only survive the one read. Bill
