Tiny Pascal on the TRS-80 was very educational for me.
I was like a freshman at Georgia Tech.

I disassembled the bytecode interpreter, and taught myself virtual machines.

Then a friend with more RAM in his TRS-80 loaded the Compiler Source Code
(from the back of the cassette)
and printed it for me.  I studied that and taught myself how to write
compilers!
