My university phased out their 1130 and replaced it with Varian V-73.
Then they discovered that Varian didn't offer a COBOL compiler, which
they still wanted to teach. For my senior project, I wrote microcode
that convinced the V-73 it was an IBM 1130. I didn't do the I/O in
microcode (ran out of room) so two faculty members wrote V-73 code to
support it.
