This is very astonishing to me as I thought to have solved it already.
A patch against it should be included (for snipiffe.sh).
For a test I've setup a new VM with Kubuntu 11.10 and it works for me.
I'm wondering now whether the patch for snipiffe.sh has been correctly
applied in your build tree. And how does line 7 of ./FEATURE/unistd.lcl
look like? It should include something like /usr/include/unistd.h. A
path with 'bits' in it is wrong.

I've also setup a new VM for Ubuntu and again it works. So it's hard
for me to analyze it. But a build log of dtksh could be helpful.
