Andy, thank you very much for your prompt reply. I noticed that both
Alex Fisher and you respond relatively quickly to this mailing list, so
now I can probably assume that my email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] was
simply lost (spam filters?), despite making sure that I sent it in text,
not HTML.
In my original email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] I indicated that I followed
all the instructions in http://distribution.openoffice.org, including
subscribing to [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED]
etc.
I also provided a URL to the intended listing for ebaY, for
OpenOffice.org's formal review.
I would have copied here my email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Alex Fisher)
verbatim, except that I am unsure whether this is appropriate: This
mailing list contents is public (appears on the simplest web search) and
I would like to verify first that publicizing subscribers requests
verbatim is your intention.
Please let me know whether my email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] was
sufficient (received?) or should I re-send my request email to this
mailing list.
I will shortly email [EMAIL PROTECTED] as well.
Thank you again,
Daniel from Software Candy LLC

Welcome Daniel ,
Please follow this link to obtain further info with regard to selling

With regard to distributing the software generally, you will find my
standard 'crib sheet' following.
Once you have read through this, and subscribed to the named mailing
lists, you may continue - as you state that you have no intention to
modify the product.
Once you have done this, use this link to apply to use logos/ graphics
etc.
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
'Crib Sheet'
Please make sure that you have subscribed to the relevant mailing
lists, and
follow the links for guides to files to distribute etc.

bar.
Or stay on line, and double click the link:
NOTE that there is NO www. in this address:
http://distribution.openoffice.org/index.html
You should see a BLUE BUTTON "Would you like to distribute cd roms?"
..................................................
or
2. If you cannot get in on this link, go in by the 'Front Door' as
below!
www.openoffice.org
Now proceed as follows
Double click the Downloads button on the top bar.
Scroll down till you see the sub section 'Other'
Double click CD-ROMs.
This will bring you to the BLUE BUTTON.
Whichever way you 'entered', proceed :
Under Mailing lists, make sure that you are subscribed to :
[EMAIL PROTECTED] .....
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ......
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ......
Once you have received the automated confirmation of subscription, you
can set up a user name and password for the site.
Please note that Openoffice.org DO NOT send out CD's.
The act of producing the cd's and leaflets etc. for distribution is
the Community Distributors contribution to ' Spreading the word'.
You may if you wish make a nominal charge for the cds, and this is
explained within the mission statements etc.
If you wish to be listed as a Distributor on the OO.o site, you can
apply, but please note that it may take a little while to activate.
e-bay
If you intend to 'market' the cd's on e-bay there are certain
conditions that you must conform to, and you will find these at:
http://distribution.openoffice.org/ebay_page.html
You can download the latest version (2.4) for win32, or browse for
linux and other alternatives if you need
them, by going back a page and clicking on the Download button (GREEN).
There are options for a download with,or without Java, suggest you take
the one with.
This may save you, or your 'customers' a second download from Java
link,if
they do not have it on their machine.
SAVE the download, and this will then write to disc.
Look out for the links to disc templates, flyers, specification sheets
etc.
You will have to 'apply' to use these..
All web link buttons etc are available, just read through the mission
statements etc. and you can then follow the links for more info.
If you are also building, you may also like to consider registering as
o.e.m. suppliers (?)
If so, in addition to the above, subscribe to:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
Come back if you have any problems.
All the best
