Unfortunately, Redhat is _not_ Linux.

Lionux is only kernel... RH is not the only Linux dtistributor although
some people behave as if it was this way. There is at least SuSE and there
are big binary compatibility problems between RH and SuSE if you use 
libc.so.6 there are even such problems if you stay on RH.

On SuSE it is simple to just load the installatuion CD, use YAST and select
libc.5 for installation.
