Hello, I've ran into problems burning DVD with growisofs. As a summary : * growisofs DVD+R : works but at 0.5X (instead of 16X) * growisofs DVD+RW : fail with message --- :-[ [EMAIL PROTECTED] failed with SK=5h/ASC=30h/ACQ=05h]: Wrong medium type :-( media is not formatted or unsupported. :-( write failed: Wrong medium type ---
I had a try with cdrecord with a generated iso image and DVD+RW. It worked but with 1X speed (instead of 4X) cdrecord also reported some strange problem : --- Disk type: unknown dye (reserved id code) Manuf. index: -1 Manufacturer: unknown (not in table) cdrecord: WARNING: Could not manage to find medium size, and more than 90 mins of data. cdrecord: WARNING: Drive returns wrong startsec (0) using -150 --- Anyway I want to make my dvd writer works ok with growisofs... I'm running - Mandriva 2006, kernel 2.6.12 smp mode/i686. - growisofs version 5.21 I've started reporting those information on mandriva's bug report without any success yet : http://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=21013 You will find there several attachements.
