We have several clusters in the PB range that use dmcrypt. I can't speak to
what it's performance detriment is to a non-dmcrypt cluster, but our clusters
run just fine. I don't really understand the question though... Either you
need dmcrypt for legal reasons in your business or you don't. If you don't
then why use it?

Subject: [ceph-users] performance with/without dmcrypt OSD

Hello,
Any one ran with and without dmcrypt OSD performance tests?
For ex: I plan to build a ceph cluster with 1 PB raw size. and also plan to use
dmcrypt for all OSD. Can you please clarify, if this dmcrypt will reduce/impact
the ceph clsuter perofmrance?

Thanks
Swami
