Sorry, but it's a Republic, NOT a democracy, as proven by last Fall's
election in which the majority won, but lost the election. The recent
discussion on marijuana also bears this out. In many states, the People have
voted to allow 1)Medicinal Marijuana and/or 2)Legalizing industrial hemp for
American farmers, but thank heaven Big Brother knows what's best for us and
won't let the People have what they voted for.
"government for the people by the people" makes a nice marketing slogan for
bureaucrats, but it's pretty far from the truth. Maybe that was the original
idea 200+ years ago, but now it could more accurately be described as
"government for big business by big business".
