Hi all,

Today we lost another of our ferrets. Augustus was the oldest since
Possum died, we figured he was at least 6 probably older. He had been
ailing for a while, with end stage adrenal cancer and insulinoma
(cancerous nodules on the pancreas produce too much insulin - sort of
like the opposite of diabetes.), and had recently lost he use of his
rear legs. This morning when we got up we found him in the middle of a
seizure. We took him to the emergency clinic. There was not much they
could do, except get him stable enough to take him to his regular vet.
We decided that he was suffering too much and gave him release. I just
got back home a short time ago. We had him for 5 years. There are days
that are never good. I noticed on the calendar that it was just over a
year since my first ferret died. 4 in one year is far too many.
