OMG - that sux.  A monkey has stomach trouble - gets hospitalized and comes out evolved.  A person goes in and gets an infection - where's the justice?

OK so... About three weeks ago I went to the hospital complaining of
stomach pain. They found nothing imminently fatal, scheduled some
ultrasounds and such, and gave me painkillers. While I was there they
drew some blood using an IV needle, which I guess is standard practice
in the ER. After I got home I noticed a small bump in the vein where
the IV had been but ignored it. I had had one before and although it
was very painful -- at the time I thought my wrist was fractured -- it
went away by itself. SO I ignored it. Until a week ago when I noticed
a red streak going up my inner arm. Went to doctor's and got an
antibiotic I had never heard of, that google tells me is for staph
infections. Two days later arm was worse. It was a weekend so I went
to the ER. Wound up being kept for observation for about 36 hours with
IV antibiotics. Got new antibiotic, Augmentin, and stronger
painkillers as stomach pain continues and arm still feels like it's
fractured. Been sleeping a lot this week. Just noticed I have a red
streak going up the *other* arm from where they had the IV antibiotics
going in...waaa. I hate this. I hate the ER, I hate doctors, I hate
  the hospital.

Thank you for listening to this. Will probably disappear for another
  few days now. Bla.

  Dana
