To be fair Howie only misquoted "daddy" vrs "dad" not "this was retribution"
(which was not claimed to be a quote) - the actual misquote really does
nothing to change the meaning of the statement.

The statement, in context, was clearly used to garner support for the war.
Perhaps not the "retribution" that Howie suggests but bringing up history
with a clear, personal motivating factor can definitely lead one in that
direction.
