This is a perfect example of why when you read an email discussion, you should take everything with a grain of salt. : ) If you think you're being insulted, ask about it! Find out what the poster really intended. The very nature of email can obscure the meaning or the intent of the poster. In a spoken discussion, you could read the emotional intent of my words. You would know if I'm saying this with anger, seriousness, sadness, or in a light tone of voice. Sometimes I type in something and mean it as nothing more than a harmless joke -- but the person reading it sees it as far more serious, perhaps thinks that I'm making fun of him or her. Or he or she may take me far more seriously than I do. And the humor falls flat because I'm not able to convey the emotion effectively. (Smiley faces are a poor substitute for a smile.)

In the end, I try not to take these things so seriously. Hey, I've seen people on total opposite ends of the political spectrum here fight, make up and remain friends. That's what makes us the ColdFusion community so great. That we're willing to listen and learn from each other.
