One of the executive chefs, from a local high end hotel, proved a point
yesterday by cracking eggs on the pale limestone walkway in front of the Alamo
to verify that "It is so hot you can fry eggs on the sidewalk" and to give it
the local touch, he added cheddar cheese and tortilla chips which makes a
popular local dish called "migas"

The timing was just after 4 PM and the temperature was 97 degrees F, and it took
30 minutes for the eggs to reach 110 F

He declined an offer from a bystander to taste the dish, saying "It might have
germs."
