It's purely anecdotal, but I consider myself to be blessed with friends of
above average intelligence and the political split seems about equal to the
national average: 25% Kerry, 25% Bush, 50% don't care enough to bother.

In my experience this is true at the individual level as well.  Of the
smart people I know there's about a 9-to-1 ratio of Kerry voters to
Bush voters.

Of the Bush voters about 60% are deeply religious, 30% are getting
direct payola, and 10% seem self deluded and/or infatuated.
