I know there are options, I was merely pointing out that for most home users
(probably all 10 of the insecure AP's mentioned before) they are hard to
track down (if they know these things exist in the first place) and even
harder to implement.

What wireless networking needs is a cross-platform standard, easy to set up,
and comes supplied on all clients and AP's.  While wireless security remains
a ball ache, wireless networks will stay insecure and consequently under
used.
